Change Up the Way Your Floors Look Through Concrete Stamping

Understanding a bit about concrete stamping, and what it can do for the floors in your home is essential. This might be the most ideal way to go about getting the look and feel that you want. The best part is that not only can homes do it, but commercial buildings that want a nicer look and feel to them can benefit from having stamped concrete flooring throughout.

What is Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete is concrete that is laid down, stamped a certain way and then finished and sealed to provide a beautiful floor. This is done through a professional that can go from start to finish with the entire process to provide only the most beautiful flooring throughout the home. In addition, they can also make the stamped concrete mimic any other type of flooring that you'd like to have in the room, including marble, for a fraction of the price.

How it Can Change the Way Your Floors Look

When you have stamped concrete laid down on the floors, you’re able to transform the way the room looks and feels with such a simple change. The process is one that does not take long, and it can provide you with a way to skip the actual materials that you want in the room, but still have them look the same as the materials that you want.

Choose from many popular floor designs such as marble, wood, laminate, tiles, any other designs that are custom made and so many more. You are in charge of what the floor is going to look like, and it can provide you with a way to increase the overall look and feel of the rooms throughout the home.

Who said a beautiful floor couldn't be affordable?

When you’re ready to change the look and feel of your home space, then speak with us here at Unique Crete Designs. The Benefits of Polished Concrete in Your Nashville Home

Concrete may be something you consider putting out back of your Nashville home. Very rarely do you consider having the concrete finished, polished and made to beautifully bring out any other room inside the home. Through the use of the polished concrete, you can make any floor in the home look like something else.

Does Polished Concrete Still Look Like Concrete?

Polished concrete does not look like regular gray concrete. In fact, you can make it look like any other type of flooring that you’d like. If you want a more marble looking appearance, or perhaps even a wooden looking type of floor than these can both be done using polished concrete.

The secret is in the polish, the color and the stamps that are used to create the look with the concrete. This creates a totally brand new, unique look. Many people that see polished concrete do not think it is actually concrete that they’re walking on. That is because the concrete does not look like concrete at all, but looks like the specific type of flooring you wanted it to look like in the first place.

Why Choose Concrete Over the Real Thing?

This question is asked more times than not. It is simply because concrete designs can be more affordable over other types of designs. Regular marble floors not only require a lot of installation time, but they are more expensive than other types of flooring on the market and the same goes with hardwood floors.

If you could have the same look from another, more affordable, material then why wouldn’t you go with the more affordable, durable and beautiful material. If you cannot tell the difference, than it shouldn’t be a question on which flooring material you should choose inside your home, office, business and so many other places.

The process is simply done through professionals, the look is beautiful once finished and the price, you can easily handle, no matter what your budget is looking like. Whether you want to redo one floor in your home, or all of them. Polished concrete can make a huge difference on the way your Nashville home’s floors look and feel.

If this sounds like something you’d like to have done in your Nashville home, do not hesitate to contact the professionals that can make it happen. Here at Unique Crete Designs, we take your plain floor and turn it into something beautiful.

Turning That Concrete into a Wood Texture

When you’re considering stamped concrete, the best way to go is by changing the look of the concrete into something that is beautiful and looks completely different. One of the biggest requests of customers that want stamped concrete is to make it look more like a wood texture. This can be done, and once done, the concrete can look just like a wooden patio right outside your back door.

The Process of Turning Concrete into Wood

The concrete slab has to be refinished, sanded down and refined before the process can begin. This is because the concrete has to be even all over, and also provide a wet surface for the contractor to work with so that they’re able to stamp the wood designs into it. This is what is going to make the concrete stand out, and look like finished wood.

Once the concrete dries, and the stamps have been set, then the fun begins which will transform the look and feel of the patio and make the concrete look like wood, instead of looking like plain concrete in the backyard.

The concrete will have to be painted, or stained in a way that resembles the wood color. This is to ensure that it looks like wood in the end. Not only that, but the cracks have to be painted a specific color so that the patio is able to look like planks were put together, and not that they were painted onto the patio. From here, a finish or varnish is put on top of the concrete. This is to finish it, and seal it so that the concrete is able to withstand the outside elements and the wood look does not go away.

Through the use of this, and once the finish and paint dries and seals, you will notice a complete difference with the outside of your home. You’re able to find just how much the stamped concrete makes a difference. If you do not want to deal with the hassles of real wood, then concrete can provide you with the maintenance free, long lasting results you’re after.

Speak with us here at Unique Crete Designs to find out how we can turn that old concrete patio into a beautiful addition on the back of your home. You want to make an impression, and this can be the best way to do so. Make it happen, and make it stand out when you let us take over and do the work for you. We promise, it will be as beautiful as ever.

Re - Do a Cracked Porch Floor Using Stamped Concrete

Cracked concrete can, not only be unsightly, but it can cause a lot of problems with the rest of the house’s foundation. You want to protect the home that you live in, and you want to ensure that it looks nice on the inside, and the outside. Through the use of stamped concrete in Nashville, for your cracked porch, you can ensure that you not only have a beautiful appearance on the inside of your home, but one of the outside, as well.

Stamped Concrete for Your Cracked Porch

Of course, being able to fully sand down, and fill in the cracks of the porch is essential. This is something that has to be done first. After this, you have to then consider what you’d like the stamped concrete to look like. You can go with anything from tiles to marble, to concrete that is a different color and anything in between. The options for stamped concrete are endless.

Once you’re specific color and look choice is made, you can then continue on with the process. This is done in steps, since the new concrete has to be poured, the mixture of the look you chose has to go over this, and then the sealant. This sealant is what is going to make the stamped concrete last much longer than the original concrete that is cracking. Chances are, it was never sealed and it broke down with time, as concrete alone usually does.

Stamped concrete is not a DIY job, as we’ve mentioned in a previous post. It is a job that skilled professionals should take on. This is to ensure that you have the highest quality flooring that you possibly can have. There are skilled professionals that can do the job, and they can be found right here in Nashville.

Awesome Design Ideas for Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete is beautiful, and when it is placed and designed nicely, it can truly make a home or business stand out. However, design ideas might be hard to come by, especially if you’re unsure of what might look nice around the outside of your home. Consider some of these design ideas before hiring on a crew to get started. They can work with you on the design, show you what it will look like and then implement the design ideas into the stamped concrete for you.

Have that professional finished look in no time when you choose one of these designs and the right company for the job.

Beautiful Stamped Concrete Designs Around a Pool

Have that beautiful stamped concrete placed around the pool. You can give it a granite or marble look, so that the pool has a more upscale, high end hotel feel to it. You can also choose to go with a stain so that the concrete is colored.

Tropical Stamped Concrete

Tropical stamped concrete is a beautiful addition to many outside areas, including enclosed porches. These designs provide a warm, luxurious feel to the area with palm trees, hibiscus flowers and other tropical themes. These can even be placed around the pool for that outdoor, out back, pool tropical feel that you might want to achieve.

Old-World Stamped Concrete Designs

Through Old-World stamped concrete designs you can have a worn out, but beautiful finished look wherever you’d like one. Sometimes providing this look to the bathroom or kitchen in the home can give it that rustic appeal, but also makes the room stand out a bit more than without the stamped concrete design idea to make it “pop.”

Stamped Concrete in the Driveway

Driveways can be boring, black and dull. However, if you choose concrete to make your driveway, you can actually choose to have it stamped and designed. This can be done through a series of stamps used on the wet concrete when it is poured, and then made into any design that you so choose. Consider adding textures down the driveway during this process.

Speak with us here at Unique Crete Designs when you think you’d like to give one of these design ideas, or any others a try. We can show you what it means to have a beautiful outdoor appearance, and not have to worry about not being able to show off the outside of your home.

Is Stamped Concrete a Do-It-Yourself Project

Is installing stamped concrete a do-it-yourself project? Well the short answer is NO!  Do you consider yourself a weekend warrior who loves taking on small projects around your home?  Stamped concrete is not one of those projects that you want to take on alone.  The main reason for this statement is that when it comes to stamped concrete you only get one chance to get it right, so you are better off leaving it to the professionals.  When it comes to concrete, especially stamped it is very unforgiving as well as expensive when it comes to the materials as well as time.  Unlike other do-it-yourself projects like plumbing or carpentry, concrete does not come apart and you cannot come back to finish it tomorrow if you run out of time.

Here are four main reasons why stamping concrete is not a do-it-yourself job that you want to start:

The Basics

There are many different factors that make stamping concrete better when it is left to the professionals.  The most obvious factor being the basics of placing concrete, which can be considered an art in itself, proper sub base preparation is essential.  Sub base preparation often includes 2 to 4 inches of stone or sub base material that in fact needs to be properly compacted.

The next step is dealing with forming, not only does this step require the proper form material, but a great understanding of elevations as well as slopes.  If the proper slope is not maintained you could end up with puddling and/or standing water issues.  As already stated concrete is permanent and so will these low spots, as well as they will be very difficult to repair.

The Placement

If you were to talk to any concrete professional they would tell you that placing as well as finishing concrete is considered as much of an art as it would be considered a technique.  It takes many years to get a grasp on just the basic of concrete, let alone become good at it.  By taking it to the next level of concrete placement and add stamping into the mix, now you have just increased that learning curve by another three to five years.

Coloring Issues

With the growth of colored concrete on the rise, and the ability to purchase colored concrete from most ready mix companies, ordering and receiving colored concrete is probably the easiest step in the whole process of stamping concrete.  It is all the other factors that are involved such as making sure the color comes out correctly that can make this job hectic.

The Stamping Process

Keep in mind that a good stamped concrete job looks great, while on the other hand a poor or even fair stamp job just looks horrible.  The most intolerant part of stamping concrete is the actual stamping. You may just be able to get away with a poor finish or even poor placement, but when it comes to the imprinting process it is permanent as well as being very expensive and difficult to repair.  The stamp itself can cost you thousands of dollars if you were to purchase them, even hundreds if you were to rent.

If you want to have the beautiful look of stamped concrete around your home, speak with us here at Unique Crete Designs. We can go over a design, placement and the process with you, so you can have a beautifully finished stamped concrete look.

Make an Impact with Branded Concrete

Being able to fully customize your concrete is a great way to be seen, or to get the design that you’d like, anywhere that you’d like it. When it comes to being able to seal a floor using a beautiful overcoat, allowing the concrete to look much different from you’d expect. When it comes to branding though, this is when you can make your business name known, and even become a bit creative with it. Learning more about branding your logo, or other business tag line to a concrete path, or walkway and advertise easily.

Concrete Stamping and Your Business

When your logo and name is stamped into the concrete, it shows that you’re able to advertise in a unique, different type of way. This not only gives your company, and building, character but it also gives your name a bigger meaning, with more eyes that are able to see it. You can choose the logo, the specific name and even a catch phrase to put on the concrete.

This can be done inside the building, as well. By laying down a concrete floor, and then placing the logo or other picture or words onto it, you then have it sealed. This makes the floor stand out much more than it normally would with granite, wood or carpeted floors throughout the building. This provides a little more personality throughout the building, but also a touch of confidence.

When you see this type of work throughout the building of a company, you know that they are committed to providing the best services, and want to make a name for themselves. Through this, the customers come first, while ensuring that the business is one that can be seen and heard of. By spreading the company name throughout the entire building, but also in other places that have concrete, the business is working to get their name out there, and work with the clients and customers that seen their unique concrete stampings.

Find where you’d like to have your concrete stamped today, and make sure that you’re seen.
